The Santo Spirito district is characterized by craftsmen workshops; typical products shops; the everyday life of the local people; and by the picturesque town landscape still preserved here. The district is also famous for its restoration; painting; design; fashion and Italian language for foreigners. In the district you can find typical Florentine cuisine; bars; discos and clubs which make it one of the most interesting places in terms of Florence nightlife. According to the City Council resolution n. 230-33 from 1 July 11 the City of Florence will introduce a tourism tax applied to non-residents staying for a maximum of 10 consecutive nights of Euro2 per night per person. It is not applied to people who provide assistance to patients in hospital; max one each patient; or to children up to 10 years.
